May 6--Non-performing loans increased by four billion baht in the first quarter of this year from the previous quarter due mainly to tighter rules on loan classifications, according to the Bank of Thailand.
NPLs stood at 595.8 billion baht or 10.92 percent of total loans in the system as of the end of March, up from 591.8 billion baht or 10.76 percent at the end of last year.
