May 5--TOT Corporation insisted yesterday that it would not allocate new telephone numbers to TA Orange even though the private concessionaire insists it faces a critical shortage of numbers for sale over the next few months.

The latest move by TOT was seen to be in defiance of the National Telecommunications Commission's move to impose provisional measures to force it to release three million numbers to private mobile-phone operators to ease current number shortages.
