May 5--Chicken exports this year should reach the targeted volume of 300,000 tonnes due to the easing of the bird flu outbreak, according to Anan Sirimongkolkasem, president of the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association.
The volume represents an increase of almost 40 percent from last year when the bird flu outbreak sent total chicken exports tumbling to 220,000 tonnes, half to the volume shipped in 2003.
