May 3--The private sector has moved to pressure the head of the Thai trade negotiating team to stand up staunchly for the benefits of Thailand during the Thailand-Japan free-trade talks.

Executives from the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) met with Pisan Manawapat, the head of the negotiating team, last Friday to insist on the importance of adhering to Thailand's position during the talks.
