May 3--The Thailand Securities Depository Co has delayed the introduction of a T+2 clearing and settlement system to give investors better opportunities to adjust to the faster cycle.

The TSD, a subsidiary of the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the country's main clearing house, had hoped to initiate the T+2 cycle in June, but now sees implementation taking place later this year. TSD president Nongram Wongwanich said some system problems also needed to be worked out before the settlement cycle could change to two days.
