May 3--Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak has instructed the vice ministers from four economic ministries to work as a team on a plan to restructure the economy from now until 2008, according to Suvit Maesincee, Dr Somkid's adviser and vice minister to the Commerce Ministry.
To ensure smooth operations and improve efficiency, Dr Somkid, who is also the finance minister, said the budget for the plan to promote investments, tourism, and exports -- all key foreign-income earners -- would be consolidated, according to Mr Suvit.
