Remember those 1970s commercials with housewives distraught over ring around the collar?
Well, law enforcement officials have been dealing with their version of ring around the collar: They're trying to scrub the stain that is white collar crime.
The latest high-profile example is Bernie Ebbers, the former CEO of WorldCom.
He was convicted March 15 of massive accounting fraud that capsized the telecom giant three years ago. His defense of "I didn't know" didn't wash with the jury.
