Maybe the Manatee County Commission and Bradenton City Council should try watching a few sunsets together.

Unfortunately, even that's not likely to put them a peaceful, cooperative mood. They're arguing, yet again, over annexation. Apparently it's a hard habit to break.

This time the dispute centers on the city's annexation of 75 acres off State Road 64 near Interstate 75. The site is next to Mangrove Point, the subject of another controversial annexation involving high-rises.

Manatee officials contend the latest annexation creates an illegal enclave by surrounding two county subdivisions -- Riverdale and the Inlets -- with city land.
