Mayor Harry M. Hallman declared May as Motorcycle Awareness Month in Mount Pleasant.

Hallman urged all motorcycle organizations, clubs, dealerships, groups, police and highway safety officials in the town to join the American Bikers Active Toward Education of South Carolina in promoting safe operation, increased rider training, improved licensing efforts and motorist awareness.

"The safety problems created by motorcycle riding should be of great concern to motorcyclists, as well as to all other motor vehicle operators," he said. "It is especially important that the citizens of our town be aware of motorcycles on the streets and…
