Contra Costa Newspapers names Jung to top advertising post.

Apr. 29--WALNUT CREEK -- Veteran newspaper executive Michael Jung has been appointed vice president of advertising and marketing at Contra Costa Newspapers, the company announced Thursday.

Jung, classified advertising director at the San Jose Mercury News, will begin his new job on Monday, said John Armstrong, president and publisher of Contra Costa Newspapers. Both companies are owned by San Jose-based Knight Ridder.

During his introduction of Jung to employees, Armstrong said Jung will bring to the company a "very open, friendly, and focused leadership style."
