Apr. 27--Horry County school district officials are ready for the public to weigh in on the proposed redistricting of the Carolina Forest elementary school attendance zone.

A new elementary school on International Drive is scheduled to open in August 2006, and a new boundary line splitting the Carolina Forest elementary school zone will determine whether children attend Carolina Forest Elementary School on Carolina Forest Boulevard or the new elementary school.

Preliminary attendance estimates for the 2006-07 school year are 753 students at Carolina Forest Elementary School and 700 students at the new elementary school. This…
