Las Vegas Valley students have had several achievements recently. Here are some of their accomplishments:

Aubon B. Opena, a seventh-grader at Hyde Park Middle School, won first prize for her art entry in the Nevada Committee for the Protection of Children contest. She was honored April 5 at a Clark County Commission meeting.

Christopher Harris, a sixth-grader at Hyde Park Middle School, was the first-place winner in the Black Graduate Student Association essay contest.

Cuper Smith and Sydney Soard, both juniors at Cimarron-Memorial High School, were named Mr. and Ms. Spartan for the 2004-2005 school…
