When former Treasury Department official William Sweetnam becomes chairman of Groom Law Group's "public policy and legislative practices group" on May 2, his work will span two very different worlds--being part of the firm's lobbying big picture issues on Capitol Hill and also representing clients in the arcane complexities of the tax code. "I think he will be doing both legislation and the technical side of tax work," said Lou Mazawey, chairman of the firm. Sweetnam himself was on a trip to italy and not available for comment.
