Apr. 21--The top investment adviser to Philadelphia's pension fund issued a statement yesterday acknowledging that she and her firm have made "modest contributions to a handful of political campaigns," while denying that her firm ever had any involvement in "so-called 'pay-to-play schemes.'"

Tina Byles Poitevien, CEO of the Philadelphia-based FIS Group, confirmed parts of a story first reported by the Mid-Ocean News of Bermuda, stating that she hosted a luncheon at a Washington D.C. restaurant in March 2002 in honor of a Bermudian cabinet minister, Dr. Ewart Brown.
