SIXTEEN YEARS AGO I found myself in Old Tucson, Arizona. Old Tucson is a standing set built first for the film of the same name, then altered--dressed and redressed it is called in the industry--for classic westerns such as Rio Bravo and Gunfight at the OK Corral. A fan of the genre since the 1950s, I was in seventh heaven. I reeled off one still after another. I didn't have to work for classic Western compositions; they were inherent in the design of the town.
