One of the key goals in the Public Library Association's strategic plan is for public libraries to be recognized as the destination for a wide variety of valuable services and for their funding to be a community priority. To meet that goal, PLA has embarked on a public library advocacy campaign that builds on ALA's Campaign for America's Libraries and features the message "The Smartest Card: Get It. Use It. @ your library" (AL, Aug., p. 7).
