Apr. 8--INTERNET PHONE SERVICE LOOKS LIKE NEXT BIG THING: If there's any one tech trend that's marked this year so far, it has to be the use of the Internet to make and receive telephone calls.
Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP (pronounced VOIP), is growing so fast that it's almost overwhelming. In fact, I think it's a safe bet to predict it's how a great many of us will soon be making most of our telephone calls from home -- and maybe work, too.
