Dr. Leslie Aiello, head of University College London Graduate School, moves to become president of the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research.

* Dr. Ellen S. Hurwitz, former president of New England College NH, becomes president of American University-Central Asia.

* Dr. Carolyn Mahoney, provost and vice chancellor at Elizabeth City State University NC, becomes the first female president at Lincoln University in Jefferson MO. She has also been at California State-San Marcos and Denison University OH.

* Ms. Bette Matkowski, president of Lamar Community College CO, will be president of Johnson and Wales University in Denver.

* Dr. Katherine Mayberry, associate provost for academic programs at Rochester Institute of Technology, becomes VP for academic affairs there.

* Ms. Alison Mudditt, VP and editorial director of books and journals at Sage Publications in Thousand Oaks, CA, becomes executive VP of its higher education group.

* Dr. Karen Newman, formerly a professor at Georgetown University's Washington DC business school, and dean of Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond VA, becomes the first female dean at the Daniels College of Business of the University of Denver.
