A recent recruiting postcard from Doane University in Nebraska that refers to the opportunity to "play the field" is under criticism from some students and faculty. Sent to 13,500 prospective students in California, the postcard features a fictional high school students Tina and Tim Steele.
The latest postcard in a series shows Tim Steele daydreaming about playing on the school's football team, saying: "Finally, a place where he could work toward the career of his choice. And also play the field." The next frame shows Tim talking to attractive women and says: "And play the field some more."
