Apr. 6--The Bangkok office of the Japan External Trade Organisation has urged the government to agree to remove tariffs on specific car components and steel imports from Japan, as part of the proposed Thai-Japanese free-trade talks, claiming the move would help car makers in Thailand.

Jetro president Atsuo Kuroda made the recommendations after reports of a deadlock in FTA negotiations over the controversial steel issue.
