Apr. 6--SARABURI -- The Japanese food giant Ajinomoto Co plans to make increasing use of Thailand as a food production base to serve its markets worldwide with planned investments of more than four billion baht this year.
At the opening of a 1.3-billion-baht plant to produce Ros Dee flavoured seasoning yesterday, Ajinomoto president Kunio Egashira said turnover in Thailand alone had shown impressive growth of 10-14 percent to 19 billion baht for the financial year that ended on March 31, 2004.
Mr Egashira said the new plant in Nong Khae, Saraburi would help lift turnover to 23 billion baht for the current fiscal year.
