Apr. 6--Prospects in emerging markets remain positive, with foreign fund managers continuing to be bullish on the Thai currency and local stocks, according to Edward Bang, director and fund manager at Wellington Management Plc.
He foresees a slowdown in both economic and corporate earnings growth this year with an upturn in 2006, led by emerging market economies.
"All in all, I think our perspective will be that global GDP growth is currently slowing, with a muted upturn in 2006. Corporate earnings growth will be slow also in 2005, while the euro area will recover in 2006," Mr Bang said at a briefing hosted by MFC Asset ...
