Apr. 6--Daily turnover on the Market for Alternative Investment is expected to rise to 250 million baht by June, up 25 percent from 199 million in the first quarter, said exchange president Vichate Tantiwanich.
Mr Vichate told investors at a briefing yesterday that turnover in the first quarter was up 275 percent compared with the same period a year ago.
The capitalisation of the MAI was 11.9 billion baht as of March 31, up 48 percent from a year ago, with 24 companies listed.
Mr Vichate said the MAI expected 40 new companies to list this year, boosting market capitalisation by another 20 billion.
