Apr. 6--Phuket Air has defended the quality of its aircraft and services following an incident that forced London-bound passengers to remain overnight in the United Arab Emirates.
Flames and sparks were observed from a Phuket Air Boeing 747-200 preparing to take off on Sunday for London from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, according to local television broadcasts.
However, Captain Chawanit Chiamcharoenvut, executive vice-president of Phuket Air, said there were no flames or sparks as some passengers had claimed.
