Dell suppliers could move into nearby industrial parks.

Apr. 5--Forsyth County's industrial parks may be the biggest beneficiary of Dell Inc.'s fixation on just-in-time manufacturing, according to Triad economic developers.

But sites in High Point, around Piedmont Triad International Airport and northern Davidson County also could be attractive because they fall within a 20-minute radius of the plant in southeastern Forsyth County. Much depends on traffic congestion and how long it would take for supplies to get to the plant on any particular route.

"Initially, the suppliers will want to be as close as they can be, so it's more or less Winston-Salem and Forsyth County's to lose than from a facilities perspective than ours to gain," said Bobby Todd, the president of …
