7 Running a small business requires some creativity when it comes to finding discounts to cut your expenses. Many small businesses consist of one employee -- the owner. If you're a freelance Web designer or an event organizer, you pretty much run your own show. So it might be difficult to access rebates available to larger companies that are able to buy supplies in bulk.
But there are other ways for small firms to take advantage of discounts. You just have to know where and how to find them. "These days it's so fast and easy to research with the Internet, it would be foolish for people not to take advantage," said Gary Foreman, publisher of The Dollar Stretcher newsletter (stretcher.com).

If you're shopping for supplies on the Web, browse sites that offer lists of coupons by merchant before you click and buy.
Two solid sites are dealcatcher.com and currentcodes.com. They list online coupons for merchants like Office Depot and Dell, which offer discounts of up to 30% and free shipping.
Some hidden discounts might be sitting right in your wallet. Looking to upgrade to a faster computer? Use your AAA auto membership to get discounts of up to 10% at places like Gateway. Use your card to save with EarthLink dial-up or high-speed Internet. Dial-up access for six months costs $10.97, and high-speed access for six months goes for $19.95.
