Apr. 4--BEC World Plc, the operator of television Channel 3, expects its revenue to grow 10 percent this year on par with the overall entertainment industry.

Vice-president Chatchai Tiemthong said the company's operating results in the first quarter just concluded would show a decline because of a drop in advertising sales as a result of the after-effects of the tsunami, bird flu and the rise in diesel prices.

"The string of negative factors has affected the company's advertising sales through the reduction in consumers' purchasing power in the first quarter, particularly in January and February," he said.
