Apr. 2--Kone Corporation of Finland has taken a controlling interest in SET-listed Thai Lift Industries and made a public tender offer to acquire all remaining shares.

Thai Lift has represented Kone in Thailand for more than 10 years.

Kone recently purchased 9.356 million shares in Thai Lift, which together with its prior holding of two million shares, represented 90.85 percent of the total shares of the company. The tender offer for the remaining 9.15 percent is priced at 60 baht per share. The official offer is expected to be filed by April 8. Shares of Thai Lift (TLI) closed yesterday at 59 baht.
