Apr. 1--Groups led by Siemens of Germany and Ericsson of Sweden yesterday won the bidding for TOT Corporation's telephone expansion project in an electronic auction with a combined price of 5.799 billion baht or about 700 million baht lower than the opening price.
TOT chairman Sathit Limpongpan said that although the final result was not comparable with the six-billion-baht reduction obtained by CAT Telecom in an e-auction for its CDMA mobile phone expansion, it showed transparency and fulfilled the government's policy.
