Apr. 1--Land development or investments in the area surrounding the new Suvarnabhumi airport should be put on hold until a new plan for the planned "Aerotropolis" takes effect as its authority will be retroactive, according to Orapin Pimcharoen, an urban planner with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
"A major difference between the general city plan implemented nationwide and the specific plan for the airport is the expropriation rights after the plan is implemented," she said.
