* How do I disdain thee? Let me count the ways. Ron Suskind rolled out a new attack on George W. Bush in a cover story for The New York Times Magazine, entitled "Without a Doubt." Suskind puts the payoff up front, in a quotation from conservative columnist Bruce Bartlett: "[Bush has] this sort of weird, Messianic idea of what he thinks God has told him to do. This is why George W. Bush is so clear-eyed about Al Qaeda and the Islamic fundamentalist enemy.... He understands them, because he's just like them." That is a stunningly stupid thing to say.
