I was very impressed with John Berlau's incisive analysis of Warren Buffett's support of the estate tax ("Buffetted," Aug. 23). When someone as rich as Buffett espouses what seems to be so "unselfish" a view it immediately arouses suspicion. I am part of the insurance industry, which feeds heavily off the estate tax, and I agree with the experts cited that all of the professional activity and costs associated with estate-tax planning are wasteful and counterproductive.
