So it's been, like, almost a year since I left CBS News for a lot of stupid reasons which, if you're still interested in (YAWN!) you can read about here and here and here and here, and today I'm celebrating (YAY!) cuz the network has decided to settle out of court with me and that means I'm free! They agreed to waive the non-compete clause which means old Danno is free free free to do what he does best, which is report and investigate the news. I'm happier than a fat lady's thighs when they've been sprinkled with talcum powder on a hot day. So all you network news mavens out there (except you know who) give me a jingle. I'm tan, rested, and ready to go back to work.

Incidentally, Eugene Volokh has been blogging nonstop on the ins and outs of my settlement with CBS for wrongful termination. I'm not allowed to comment officially until the settlement is recorded, but let's just say he's absolutely correct about the book deal. It will include reproductions of the disputed e-mails that they say I sent to a Kerry-campaign muckety-muck, but which are clearly not mine and not from my computer. I'll be blogging on this topic next week.
