* Paul Klebnikov was born and brought up in the United States, a member of a distinguished Russian family that had fled the 1917 revolution. Writing for Forbes magazine, he made a reputation as an investigative journalist. The title of one of his books is Godfather of the Kremlin: Boris Berezovsky and the Looting of the Kremlin.
