National Petrochemical Co. (NPC; Tehran) has provided details of the five complexes it plans to build along a previously announced 1,500-kilometer ethylene pipeline connecting olefin plants in the Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone at Bandar Assaluyeh, Iran with planned downstream complexes in Iran's western provinces (CW, Oct. 20, p. 22). NPC will build a 300,000-m.t./year linear low-density (LLDPE) plant and a 30,000-m.t./year butene-1 unit at Mahabad, the furthest site from Bandar Assaluyeh on the pipeline.
