The capture of the man who abducted and murdered Megan Holden, a 19-year-old college student from Henderson, Texas, should get credited to an employee at the Mountain View RV Park in Bowie, Arizona.
At 6 a.m. on Friday, January 21, Johnny Lee Williams attempted to rob the convenience store at the RV park, saying, "This is a robbery. I want all the money in the cash register," reported the January 22 Arizona Daily Star. A store employee, retired New York firefighter Richie Chapman, saw Williams start to pull a gun from underneath his sweatshirt, so he quickly drew his own gun and fired, striking Williams in the shoulder.
Williams ran to his truck and drove off. Investigators tracked down Williams after he pulled off to the side of the road and flagged down passing motorists. One of those motorists told authorities that Williams drove himself to a local hospital. After being treated, Williams was arrested by authorities.
