Spokane, WA-based energy company Avista Utilities recently announced that it is planning to adjust its hydroelectric operations in anticipation of low spring runoff conditions due to a warm, dry winter in the Northwest. The utility said runoff is expected to be sufficient to achieve "an initially normal summer level on Lake Couer d'Alene," while "lower levels are possible in late summer," with power production levels anticipated to be "well below normal."
