THE American people were rightly shocked, outraged, and ashamed at the abuse of Iraqis at the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. All detainees, including Saddam Hussein loyalists and foreign jihadists, are entitled to a humane level of treatment that should have precluded their sexual assault and humiliation.
