NCR chief earned raise, bonus.

Mar. 25--DAYTON -- The board of NCR Corp. granted President and Chief Executive Mark Hurd a 33 percent raise in salary and bonus last year as the company cut costs and boosted sales and profits.

Hurd's total salary and bonus for 2004 was $2.02 million compared with $1.52 million in 2003, according a proxy statement NCR filed this week with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Hurd's salary climbed 23 percent to $899,423 last year from $727,308 in 2003, while his bonus rose 41 percent to $1,122,000 last year from $792,000 in 2003.

Hurd, 48, became president and CEO in March 2003. Last year, NCR experienced a strong turnaround …
