Mar. 23--CURRITUCK -- Property in Currituck's northern Outer Banks, where there are no paved roads and few government services, more than quad- rupled in value, more than any other area of the county, according to the latest tax revaluation.
Total Currituck County property values rose about 146 percent, to $6.4 billion from $2.6 billion since the last revaluation in 1997.
As expected, oceanfront and waterfront property increased the most, particularly parcels in the northern Outer Banks, including the community of Carova.
