Saleen Inc., the company charged with the assembly and painting of Ford GT chassis and bodies, has fired several key employees involved with the GT project.
CEO Steve Saleen and Ford say the firings-which see the departure of Rich Rinke, chief operating officer, and Joe Tori, the assembly plant's general manager-are not related to recent quality glitches that have struck the GT.
Saleen promoted Brian Walsh, general manager of Saleen's plant in Irvine, California, to oversee the GT plant in Troy, Michigan.
