Mar. 19--Charlotte Katzenmoyer agrees City Hall should get out of the business of running Central Market.
Katzenmoyer says that when she signed on to join a group studying the future of Central Market, she knew she was about to lose some control.
And that's fine by her, she says.
As director of the City of Lancaster's Public Works Department, Katzenmoyer and her staff take care of the daily operations, maintenance and preservation of Central Market.
But as vice chairwoman of the Central Market Master Plan committee, Katzenmoyer is advocating taking the city out of the market business.
She wants to put the future of the market in the hands of a new Central Market Trust, a nonprofit group that will run the market day-to-day.
