Overview: The British Library holdings are available in its reading rooms, via its website, and through remote document supply. British Library Direct (launching April 2005) will augment existing remote services with a secure, pay-as-you-go ordering system.
New product/service: Secure Electronic Delivery (SED) is growing in popularity and British Library Direct is expected to attract more individual users and SMEs, allowing article-level searches of the 20,000 most used titles, ordering and delivery. Service cost is [pounds sterling]7.45 for standard delivery of a copy by mail, fax or SED (UK users), excluding any copyright fees payable.

Other new initiatives: Research Services provide professional research within the BL's science, technology and innovation collections.
