Mar. 16--When Lisa Harlan set out to persuade Ohio legislators not to cut Medicaid reimbursements to children's hospitals, she wasn't just acting on behalf of the state's 950,000 kids with Medicaid coverage.
Harlan wants people to send leading lawmakers more than 20,000 postcards because she said, "These cuts will impact all children, not just the ones enrolled in Medicaid."
Between the reimbursement cuts already scheduled this year and the two-year freeze in Gov. Bob Taft's proposed budget, Children's Medical Center CEO David Kinsaul estimates the Medicaid changes under consideration would decrease his hospital's revenue by about $2 million over two years.
