Mar. 8--An Amarillo private school is nearing a $4 million goal that will fund the construction of its new building.
Ascension Academy, a college preparatory school for grades six through 12, has reached the $2.3 million mark in a $4 million capital campaign, said Kim Turner, Ascension's director of development and operations.
Once the campaign hits $3.3 million, Ascension will start construction on its own facility to be built on 40 acres at the intersection of Soncy Road and 45th Avenue, Turner said.
Currently, Ascension Academy has classes in facilities owned by Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, 8201 Canyon Drive.…
