Mar. 5--Most fifth-graders' artwork doesn't go farther than the refrigerator door. But one of 12-year-old Holly Tarleton's drawings is gracing the shelves at Belk department stores.
Holly's blue, yellow, green and pink-hued sketch of tropical fish at the bottom of the ocean caught the eye of a Belk employee last fall. The work, in watercolor-style crayons, had landed in a display in the lobby of the company's corporate headquarters, thanks to a longstanding partnership between Belk and Berryhill Elementary School.
