Mar. 7--HYDROPONICS FIRM HEADING TO ST. LUCIE RESEARCH PARK: St. Lucie County has a second taker on its developing research park.
Pure Produce Greenhouses Inc., a 1 1/2 -year-old start-up hydroponics company in Deerfield Beach, has committed to the St. Lucie County Research and Education Park planned west of Fort Pierce, said Larry Daum, the county's economic development manager.
The company has committed to a 20-acre piece of the park for its "greenhouse range," a cluster of hurricane-proof, climate-controlled greenhouses where vegetables are grown with purified air and water and no chemicals.
