At a Comdex dedicated largely to multimedia this week, Intel Corp. might be the brightest star, as attendees won't be able to turn around without bumping into Intel's multimedia processors, software, or allies.

Comdex attendees will be able to see Intel's compression software Indeo running on Video for Windows, QuickTime for Windows, and Ultimotion. An OEM video capture board from Intel will also debut at the show.

Intel's multimedia presence at Comdex represents just the beginning, however, as the microprocessor company plans to unleash a horde of additional products early next year. Those products are designed to establish Intel as one of the major definers -- …
