Well, don't bother looking for big neon signs and over-the-top romantic gestures. What really tips you off to his commitment quotient is how he deals with the day-to-day stuff. "You may not realize it, but you can test your guy's love by observing the way he reacts to you in certain situations," says Judith Sherven, PhD, coauthor of Be Loved for Who You Really Are. How He Handles a Minicrisis

Nina, 26 *, was on vacay in Thailand with her boyfriend, Rob, when her backpack was snatched. "Rob screamed at me for being so careless, and I yelled back that it wasn't my fault. I couldn't believe what a dick he was being when I was so upset," she recalls. His being anxious and angry is a perfectly understandable reaction ... as long as he gets over it quickly so you can deal with the situation together.
