Sure, the Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner can pick up light dirt, dust and lint. But how would it fare cleaning up after my two Himalayan cats?
Sherpa and Leah have made cleaning our house a Sisyphean task. They're constantly shedding their long, cottony fur on our rugs, carpets and hardwood floor. You finish vacuuming, only to find fresh hair scattered about.
Cleaning up is an endless chore for my wife and me.
So, I recently tested the Roomba Discovery Model 4210 to see if it could rise to the challenge of Sherpa and Leah.
The result? The device worked amazingly well. It sucked up more cat hair, dander and dirt than I expected. I learned, in fact, that some of our rooms were much dirtier than they had appeared.
The Roomba Discovery, which retails for $250, is simple to operate. The disc-shaped robot has four large buttons on its top, including buttons for power and three cleaning modes.
